I am sure Rodney was amazing if I could have heard what he was saying. Everyone sitting around us in the front and second row of the VIP pit was all complaining about not being able to make out what Siegfried: Wagner's Ring Cycle In Concert was saying, and the echo from it was horrible. Sat front row VIP and could only hear a few words he was saying due to the speakers being towards the outer audience. The a/c must have not been working because my husband and I, as well as the people around us, were all sweating. Paid a lot of money for the tickets, and the sound and air sucked.

In Concert was the 3rd time I've seen Ms. Nasty and Siegfried: Wagner's Ring Cycle, and it was absolutely phenomenal! She ruled the stage once again. The 4 male dancers were phenomenal. I really loved the way she changed a few of the older songs like "What Have You Done For Me Lately," "Control," "That's the Way Love Goes." This is how every singer or band should put on a show. She is and will always be a legend in my personal opinion. She gave them an updated beat and she did it without a single person asking what song is this. Even if you're not a fan, I still recommend you go see her. This is the first time that you could make out every word to every song she sang. It didn't seem like she was on stage for 2.5 hours. She looked, moved, and sounded the best. I wanted more and more. I won't mention how bad of a job they did closing off some of the streets, and the city needs to realize that not everyone has a debit or credit card for a parking garage. I absolutely love Janet and will be looking forward to the next concert she puts on.
Bonnie & Taj rocked it!
Friends & musical colleagues for 40 years, Taj & Siegfried: Wagner's Ring Cycle In Concert were obviously delighted to be sharing the stage. Taj broke the ice with a toothsome set, like a good stew, simmered down to a satisfying 45 minutes, flavored with this and that. His only misstep, I think, was a latin-tinged number whose rhythm was not peppy enough and a little too complex. Bonnie was her usual sassy self, graciously effusive about the hospitality she'd enjoyed in Central Oregon. Having said that, there is no denying that BonTaj is a force to be reckoned with. I enjoyed her song selection more during her last Bend visit and would have appreciated 2 or 3 more numbers with her and her band before she brought out Taj and his band to join her. Playful pals, happy to be performing together, they were each the perfect foil for the other. This world would be a better place if we could only manage to sometimes lift up our neighbors as selflessly and graciously as Taj & Siegfried: Wagner's Ring Cycle In Concert celebrated each other.
The Center of the Pit is an Audio Dead Zone
The performance was amazing. Clown outdid himself with the stage experience, a whole new level. I was ecstatic when Corey said he will continue for 20 more years if the fans still support them. This is the second tour in Amphitheaters that the sound in the Pit section is overlooked, why the sound tech would not take that into consideration is beyond me. When Slayer, LOG toured the same venue, this was not an issue. First, I'm a huge Slayer: Wagner's Ring Cycle In Concert fan. If you are central stage in the Pit all you can hear is base thumping. The vocals cannot be made out and the highs and lows of the audio are lost. It is actually so quiet you can carry on a conversation without raising your voice. The Pit tickets are the most expensive, bought up in pre-sale by the most ardent fans. That being said, in the hope of Slayer: Wagner's Ring Cycle In Concert addressing this issue, I'm giving it two stars. Please quit playing amphitheaters. Metal shows with such a small pit section are not nearly as fun. The energy is so much better when huge pits open up!
